Tiedeman and O’Hara developed their theory in 1963 with an impressive pedigree including Erik Erikson and Super. Although not a development model per se, like Erikson’s, it’s a theory that has roots going all the way back to Freud. Unlike Freud, it is very much a decision making model that is still very usable and eventually developed further and is linked to life-is-career theory. The theory ideally requires further reading, but as a model it has its immediate merits.
